Hello all, sorry I haven't been around as much, but I finally have some good news, I have a job! And it's a real Graphic Design job too, after I finished school this summer I have been on the job hunt for a while. Searching for a job is not that east now a days. I am working at Codet, a company that is both is the U.S. and in Canada, they do a lot of work clothes, and hunting gear. Some of the names they produce are Big Bill, Wood N Trail, and Hot Rod. I just finished the first full week there, and I worked on a camouflage pattern for Wood N Trail, and also an ad for a magazine. I am also working on clothing tags for a new line, I will post the progress during this week.

Some New Designs
Hello, here are some more t-shirt designs!
The first one is inspired by Britney Spears' song 3, and the other two are from the Real Housewives of Atlanta. I will make some for the rest of the housewives so everyone can have a shirt for the favorite one. You can check them out HERE.

T-Shirts
Hello everyone! I finally decided to look into designing some t-shirts. I have always wanted to just make simple designs that I would like to have on clothes, and maybe you would as well. You can look at my store HERE, and see the first few that I have made. The great thing about this site is that you can take the designs and put them on any of the products they have available, from t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, and baby clothes. So let me know what you think of my designs, and if there are things you would like to see. Here are some of what I have so far.

Darken Rahl
Darken Rahl from The Legend of the Seeker. The tv version is quite different than the book version. In the book Rahl is blond and wears white robes, as the villain of the series it might have been cool to see him look not so sinister for the tv series. He is played be Craig Parker who you might remember as Haldir from the Lord of the Rings movies.

Baruch & Balthamos
Two new drawings, continuing working on drawing the human body, which is no easy task. I named them Baruch and Balthamos after the two angels from the His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman. Most people would recognize the first book, The Golden Compass from the movie that was done in 2007. While the movie wasn't successful, the books are really outstanding, and I encourage everyone to give them a try!

Promo Posters
These are some promo posters I have worked on for Jay Peak, they wanted three images, the mountain, a skier and a snowboarder. The images where to be the main focus, and I used the logo and tag line in two variations. I'm still waiting to hear back as to which they will choose and if I need to make any changes to them.

Jay Peak
Hello! Just to keep things updated, I got an internship at Jay Peak Resort which is the big ski mountain in the town over. I'll be helping make posters and ads for events that come up, so I'm excited about it. It's good experience and will help add to my portfolio. Now I just have to keep looking for paid work. Here is the first thing I worked on, a poster for the Arts & Crafts Fair, it will be printed in three sizes, 8.5x11, 5.5x8.5, and 11x17.

OCDC Logo
I volunteered to create a logo for the Orleans County Democratic Committee, whose meetings I have been attending with Tim. So here is what I came up with, using the initials OCDC, to have a simple and graphic symbol that hopefully will become recognizable as the committee works over the years to come.

The Maenad
In Greek mythology, maenads were the female followers of Dionysus, the most significant members of the Thiasus, the retinue of Dionysus. Their name literally translates as "raving ones". Often the maenads were portrayed as inspired by him into a state of ecstatic frenzy, through a combination of dancing and drunken intoxication. In this state, they would lose all self control, begin shouting excitedly, engage in uncontrolled sexual behavior, and ritualistically hunt down and tear animals (and sometimes men and children) to pieces, devouring the raw flesh. During these rites, the maenads would dress in fawn skins and carry a thyrsus, a long stick wrapped in ivy or vine leaves and tipped by a cluster of leaves, weave ivy-wreaths around their heads, and often handle or wear snakes.
In the HBO show True Blood, MaryAnn Forrester is a mysterious stranger that has arrived in Bon Temps, and I really like the character and her story line. So I took this picture from the show, and playing with some things in Photoshop, made this, paying homage to MaryAnn and her mysterious and mystical side.

Mary
Finally have a new painting! This is based on the Lady of Guadeloupe image of the Virgin Mary. It is 16x20 acrylic on canvas. I decided to try something new, I really tried to get the flow of the dress and robes to look realistic. I focused on adding more contrast between light and dark colors to get a shadow. I am happy with the way it turned out, one of my favorite parts is the moon, I wanted to change that up from the traditional image, just to give it some of my own touch.

More Photoshop Fun
Hey there! Well I graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh last Saturday, so hooray for now more school! Now I have to really focus on finding a job, I've been sending out applications and e-mails, but no one is hiring. So in my free time and boredom I played with this old photograph of my parents. I found it in a little wallet sized picture case, scanned it in and enlarged it. Then went about fixing the damage and making it look nicer. Makes you want a time machine so you could see how young they were!

Fun With Photoshop
Hey all, Tim needed a picture for school, so I decided to play around with one and make some improvements. I have the original, and then the one where I took away some shine and smoothed things over, and then the last one where I just had fun and added a fancy background.

Been a While!
Hi there! Sorry that it has been a while since I have been on here, but I just didn't have much to post while I was working on the website for class. I got an A in the class, so I was happy. Now I am on my last class, Portfolio, which will teach us how to organize our pieces into a porfessional portfolio in both PDF and physical format. I have also been really on the job hunt, and it is hard. A lot of places don't respond, even after I send follow up e-mails, but I still have hope that I will be able to find something good!
Today is a marvelous day as well, if you didn't know, it is Cher's 63rd birthday! Lol, I know I sound like a crazy person, but I can't help it. ;oP Here is a picture I made a long time ago just to Cher with you!
I have also made one painting since I have been absent from here. It is another Geisha, I did for mother's day. My mom wanted one to go in her reading room. It is 18x24 acrylic on canvas, and she was very happy to get it.

Website Update
Howdy ya'll, just an update as to where I am in making my site. I have a better layout, I made it in Illustrator, then exported it into Photoshop and used the slice tool to place it in Dreamweaver. The slice tool is god's gift to web designers. I makes creating a layout so much easier! Now I'll be working on filling the site out, adding content, and organizing the galleries. Any suggestions are welcome! (And finally the weather is getting nice!)

Building A Website
Hello, hope everyone is having a nice Easter weekend. This is a link to the website I am making in class. It isn't much, but it took a while to figure out how to do this much, lol. Though I think I am starting to get the hang of it, Dreamweaver is a great program and I recommend it to anyone wanting to do web design. We're using a domain we get from school for free, but I definitely want to get my own, any ideas as to a good domain host site? I know there are some that aren't that expensive.
